Aftercare

1. Keep your bandage on. Usually for 2 days, but this time frame can vary depending on the tattoo. Your artist will give you instructions at your appointment. You do not want to sweat underneath your bandage. If you notice anything abnormal, contact your artist immediately.

2. Remove the bandage. Make sure you have clean hands.

3. Clean your tattoo. Do this 2 times per day until healed. Be as gentle as possible with this step. Use clean hands, lukewarm water, and gentle soap (bonus points if it is antibacterial/fragrance-free). Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

We recommend:

Dial Soap OR Castille Soap

4. Moisturize as needed. It is not recommended to do this more than twice per day. Itching and scabbing are normal, but it is very important to let your body do its thing. DO NOT pick, scratch, or scrub your tattoo during the healing process. Instead, use a tattoo ointment or a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. Don’t oversaturate it—you want to use enough to help it heal while also letting it breathe.

We recommend:

Mad Rabbit Soothing Gel OR Gold Bond Healing Lotion

While your tattoo is healing, it is recommended that you DO NOT work out, take long hot showers, go swimming, use a hot tub, etc.
